Wrinkle Reducing and Muscle Relaxant Treatments

  • Common areas for muscle relaxant treatment include frown lines, crow’s feet, horizontal lines, bunny scrunch, lip flip, brow lift and gummy smile. Medical uses also include treatment for excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) and teeth grinding/jaw clenching (bruxism).

  • Softening of expression lines usually begins to take place a few days after treatment while final results are seen between 10-14 days afterwards.

  • Treatments for expression lines generally last somewhere between 3-6 months. Treatments for face/jaw slimming/bruxism can last anywhere from 4-12 months depending on your natural predisposition for using these target muscles.

  • Common side effects include mild redness and slight swelling at the area of treatment. This typically resolves within 15-30 minutes. Most patients feel confident to go about their usual day immediately post treatment. There is the chance of bruising but in most cases there is little to none. Having said this, we cannot guarantee no bruising.

  • It is recommended that you avoid lying down for 4 hours after treatment. Preferably you should avoid applying make up for the remainder of the day. Additionally, we recommend you do not over-heat your face/body in the 24 hour post treatment by avoiding exercise, very hot showers, and hot room activities such as sauna and hot yoga. Avoid facial treatments such as skin needling, facials, microdermabrasions, chemical peels, and laser for 2 weeks.

  • Current Australian regulations prohibit us from stating the brand of muscle relaxant we chose to use. Rest assured that at Fresh By Dr Elle we chose to use one of the most reputable brands of muscle relaxant on the market.

  • Absolutely not! This is a common misconception but the reality is that for the time you would have been having wrinkle reducing treatments, you will have effectively pressed pause on your aging process. Your face will thank you!

Facial Contouring and Volume Replacement Treatments

  • Common areas for improving facial balance with dermal filler include cheeks, lower face, lips, temples, nasolabial fold, jawline. 

  • You will generally achieve a noticeable result immediately after your treatment. Full treatment results should be in effect by 2-3 weeks post treatment.

  • Longevity of dermal filler varies on the type and thickness of the product used as well as the area it is placed within. For example, less mobile areas of the face tend to have longer lasting results than those areas with higher natural movement or expression. Results can last anywhere from 6-18 months after which time they are degraded naturally by your body.

  • There is often swelling in the area of treatment. In the vast majority of treatments, this is very mild and only noticeable to the you. The exception to this rule is lip filler – due to the sensitive nature of the lips, the post treatment swelling is relatively noticeable for up to 48 hours post treatment.

  • Ideally, we ask you to refrain from applying make up for the remainder of the day after your treatment. In the 24 hours following treatment, please avoid over-heating the face/body as this can increase your post treatment swelling and bruising. Please avoid massaging the area firmly. It is not uncommon for the treated area to feel firm in the first 2 weeks post treatment. This is normal and will resolve over the first 2 weeks. If you have any issues regarding ongoing swelling or firmness after this time, then please book in for a dermal filler review and allow one of our experienced doctors to address your concerns. Avoid facial treatments such as skin needling, facials, microdermabrasions, chemical peels, and laser for 2 weeks.

  • Current Australian regulations prohibit us from stating the brands of volumising gels we have elected to practice with at Fresh By Dr Elle. You should feel confident that our doctors will only work with a select few, premium brands of dermal filler.

General Questions

  • This will depend on a number of factors such as whether you are new to the world of cosmetic injectable treatments, whether you are new to one of our doctors, what the nature of and how many concerns you wish to discuss, and the complexity of the treatments recommended. We will always do our best to accommodate our patients however we would never want to rush a cosmetic medical treatment. Therefore, we may advise you that treatment is not possible on the same day.

  • Our cosmetic consultations are free of charge and there is no obligation to commit to a treatment on the day or in the future.

  • For most of our appointments at Fresh By Dr Elle there is no booking fee required. In some cases where a longer than usual appointment time is necessary, we will require a deposit to secure the appointment.

  • There are no restrictions on flying following a muscle relaxant treatment. There are certain dermal filler treatments that come with them a recommendation not to fly for a certain period afterwards. Please make your cosmetic doctor aware of any plans for upcoming flights prior to your treatment. Feel free to message the clinic prior to booking for further advice.

  • We cannot provide these services while you are pregnant.

  • Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate you bringing a child into the treatment room where your procedure is being performed.
